Wendy Heidrich

Wendy Heidrich brings with her many years of experience.  She began her acting career at an early age, when her parents who were and still are involved in Community Theatre, brought her along to audition for the children’s roles. She then studied Drama and Dance first in Eugene Oregon, then moved down to San Diego, Ca in 1986 where she continued her studies, and began working in non-union film, television and commercial spots. In 1990 she moved to Los Angeles where she earned enough screen credits to achieve her Screen Actor's Guild Membership. 

In 1998, a move to Lugano, Switzerland opened up an opportunity for Wendy to implement and direct a theatre and drama program at Franklin College, Switzerland. Over the three years she lived there with her growing family, (daughter, Lily was born in 2000), she managed, produced and directed over 20 drama and theatrical productions.

In July of 2001 Wendy’s husband Mark, was offered the position of Registrar at St. Mary’s College in Historical St. Mary’s City. Soon after their move to Southern Maryland, she began working at Signature Theatre as the Production Manager in Arlington, VA. She managed several productions including, Orton’s What the Butler Saw, A Christmas Carol Rag, and Harvey Schmitt’s 110 Degrees in the Shade. She also oversaw and ran student internships for local students, and the Signature in the Schools Program. She was also responsible for the Concert in the Park Summer Series and the Cabaret Productions which brought in talent from all over to perform in the front lobby of Signature.  

In 2002 she formed the Newtowne Players, Inc. Wendy also sits on the St. Mary’s Arts Council, The League of Women Voters, and the St. Mary’s Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Committee. Currently she is working as an Art's Administrator for The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington. This is her first performance in a Patuxent Playhouse production.
